I'm sure the reason I'm a scientist, knitter, dyer, spinner etc is because I love playing with colour. That is also why I can't resist buying certain yarn and stashing it.
This is a pretty picture don't you think?

So this is where the day job meets my fiber addiction. The picture shows the neutron scatter pattern of an emulsion. I want to recreate these colour combinations as a hand dye/spun project. My challenge for dyeing this spring is to recreate colour sequences I see in ordinary life and nature, particulary some of the crazy one's I've seen in polarizing microscopy.
