What i didn't mention is which one and which yarn ....
I've wanted to knit daffodil for a while ... and thought that the pattern could justify the use of some self striping yarn.
I usually cringe at the thought of a lace project done in multicolour.
To attempt to see if this phobia was justified I decided to brave a large lace project in multicolour. After some careful swatching followed by dyeing of some Jamieson and Smith 2ply laceweight (1000yd) and then knitting on 4.5mm needles, and a near running out of yarn disaster 3 rounds from the end ...
I present Daffodil which I gave as a present last week and think it was well received ...
I like the way the colours change the shape of the central trumpet to more like those seen in the daffs i have in my garden.so ... what's your verdict? Can self-striping handye work for lace?

I'm not a fan of muti-colored lace projects - mine have for the most part failed miserably, BUT this project married design and yarn perfectly! I would have been thrilled to receive it! Here's to many more successes with multi-colored lace yarn!!

I think the self-striping works much better in a round instead of a triangle lace piece. This one is beautiful.
I am not too crazy about self-stribing yarn for lace either, but I must admit it worls aout really well in your daffodil! Looks great.
